Breaking the Chains of Injustice

We are a group of like minded Christ followers who are interested in becoming like Jesus through fighting social injustices and systemic racism through prayer as well as our actions. We seek to do this through growing individually as anti-racists and collectively partnering with Together Chicago (https://togetherchicago.com/).

With Together Chicago, we want to be a catalyst for lasting change by reducing gun violence and increasing thriving communities in nearby Chicago communities. Specifically, once a month, we will participate in "Night Church" alongside other churches where we will engage in "Positive Loitering" in troubled spots to change the dynamics of that place, in coordination with the Police Department. We will participate in Night Church at Green Briar Park, which is near Peterson and California in Chicago on June 22, July 6, and August 17 from 6:30 pm to 8 pm.
"Positive Loitering" simply means serving the community through food and worshiping together in the park which, in and of itself, breaks down spiritual strongholds. In addition, we will meet once a month to pray together, debrief our experience at Night Church, and learn about becoming Christian anti-racists on June 8, July 27, and August 31 at 6:30 pm at Evanston Vineyard. Lastly, we may participate in other activities as they relate to our mission based on group consensus.

When: Two Thursdays each month, 6:30 pm to 8 pm
Where: in person
