Your soul is the core of your being. It is the sacred meeting place between you and God. The soul is where your deepest desires and feelings come into contact with the formational presence of God. We all want to be connected to God. We want to be with Him or be sure that He is with us. We want to hear His voice.

When we find a pocket of quiet with God, we often plug in our requests:

Lord, help me with ______.
God, don’t forget _______.
God, please remember we need _______.
And God, please before you go, refresh me, restore me, renew me.

That is often as far as we get. We experience transactions with God instead of transformation.

But the God we see in the Bible is …

a God of conversation,
a God who takes walks with people,
a God who eats meals with people,
a God who shows up… at weddings and funerals, when people are sick and when they are hungry,
a God who asks questions and tells stories.

We are invited to build a life with this God.

The Soul Care class is designed to help us think about creating space in our lives where we can be open and available to God. Each week, we will spend about 10 minutes talking about a particular component or question that relates to our life with God. We will then spend the rest of our time practicing spiritual exercises together that help us connect with God.

No previous experience is required. This class for everyone.
