Co-Ed Group, Meets Online, Monday

Disability Ministry Team

Led by Seyi Adeolu and Betsy Uzzell
1st, 3rd & 5th Mondays, 7:00-8:30pm (Starting February 1)

Do you have experience working with individuals with disabilities and would like to use those skills in church ministry?
Are you curious to learn about how to help meet the needs of individuals with disabilities both in and outside of the church?
Are you or a family member living with a disability and want to share your experience and knowledge with others while receiving support?

Come join us as we learn how to more fully include people with disabilities in life at the Vineyard. We will use materials from Joni and Friends, an established disability ministry organization. We will learn about varying abilities as well as provide opportunities to serve our brothers and sisters who might be in need of assistance.

Our church has been speaking about living the good life of serving in the righteousness, peace, and joy of the Holy Spirit…seeking God’s justice…honoring those who are intentionally left out by society. Here’s your chance to live it out!

Each week we will use Joni and Friends training material to look at topics such as:
-Key scriptures that provide a theological framework for Disability Ministry
-The five stages of changing attitudes about disability
-First steps to establish a Disability Ministry
-Engaging church leaders
-Understanding specific disabilities

We will get to know each other, our backgrounds, passions, and experiences with disability. We will pray together and ask God to shape this ministry for the Evanston Vineyard. We will pursue relationships with people with disabilities in our church and apply what we are learning. Come join us!
