Welcome to the Evanston Vineyard website!

The Evanston Vineyard Church is a community of believers who are dedicated to worshipping God and helping each other in our spiritual development.

Our desire is to do this in a way that avoids hype and manipulation and yet still has enthusiasm and joy as well as intimacy and reverence.

We believe that experiencing the love and mercy of God is more effective in bringing change to people's lives than rules, guilt, and condemnation. And so we have attempted to make our community a place where people can come as they are and still experience love and mercy.

And yet, we also want to have a spiritual and community life that is based on truth rather than mere sentimentality. So we emphasize learning and applying the truth of God to our lives and also learning how to speak truth to one another while remaining in the attitude of love and mercy.

We have found that a worship that engages our hearts and minds with God's presence is not only key to this experience, but is also our highest goal. And so you will find a worship experience that encourages heartfelt participation and an expectation of actually encountering God's presence in the process. Our worship is contemporary in style, but embraces a variety of worship traditions.

The result has been that a diverse group of people from over thirty different nationalities and a variety of ethnic groups have come together into a vital spiritual community.
